Ilorin Robbery Incident: We’re Investigating, Searching For Clues-Police

The police have disclosed that the robbery incident that reportedly happened in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, on Tuesday, is being investigated while noting that no one has reported the incident in question.
Media reports had claimed that three men, who allegedly wore police uniforms, had attacked an unidentified man on Lajorin Street opposite Excellence Citizens Bar, near the State High Court , Ilorin , on Tuesday and collected millions of naira from him at gunpoint.
Spokesman for the Kwara state police command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday which was titled ‘RE: GUNMEN IN POLICE UNIFORM ATTACK MAN, MADE AWAY MILLIONS OF NAIRA IN KWARA’ somewhat raised doubts about the robbery incident submitting that the security arrangements put in place will make it largely difficult for a citizen to be robbed in the city centre in daytime without detection of such a crime by the police.
He also noted that police officers are currently searching for clues.
‘The above headline was prominent on some newspapers and social media platforms to the effect that one man was allegedly attacked by three hooded gun men in police uniform and that an unspecified amount of money snatched.
The Kwara state Police command wishes to sympathize with the supposed victim over the unfortunate incident. In the meanwhile, the command is using this medium to inform the public of her security arrangements which make it largely difficult for a citizen to be robbed in the city centre in daytime without Police detection.
Up to the time of issuing this statement neither the victim nor anyone with an iota of information has released such to the Police. The intelligence arm of the command has started piecing together information that could lead to the victim so as to narrate the circumstances of the incident but regrettably, no information to date except those on newspapers and on social media.
The command wishes to restate the importance of reporting incidents to the police promptly for necessary action.
On this case in question, the Commissioner of Police, Kwara state, CP Victor Olaiya psc (+) has since directed a discreet investigation into the rumor and ensure that justice is done if it is confirmed to be true’ the statement said-Team@orientactualmags.com
