Imam Who Was Shot Outside Newark Mosque Dies From Gunshot Wounds

Imam Hassan Sharif, who was shot outside a mosque in Newark, on Wednesday, has died from gunshot wounds.
He was transported to University Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the shooting incident was reported at Masjid Muhammad-Newark , South Orange Avenue and Camden Street at about 6:15 a.m.
Newark is the most populous city in New Jersey, the United States of America.
When police arrived at the scene of the incident, they found Sharif lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, 10 feet from the mosque entrance, and he had bullet wounds in his abdomen and left arm.
Officials have said the attackers may not have been motivated by bias or domestic terrorism.
‘The impact on the community of this sort of particularly dastardly crime cannot be understated’ said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens.
People in the area said the shooting incident had nothing to do with the crisis in the Middle East , ethnic or religious bias. Instead, they blamed it on the ongoing violence in the neighborhood.
‘The crime in this area just has to stop. It’s ridiculous. I’m out of here. I’m moving to another state. I can’t take this anymore’ Paulette Williams, a Newark resident, said.
‘My heart is really hurting over him. You’re not afraid to attack an imam, how about the average Muslim?’ Daud Haqq, the president of the Tri-State Imams Council, also lamented.
The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) had earlier confirmed that Sharif had worked as a security screener at Newark airport since 2016.
‘We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and send our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues’ said Lisa Farbstein, a TSA spokeswoman-Team@orientactualmags.com
