President of the Senate, Barrister Godswill Akpabio, President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, business mogul, Chief Deji Adeleke, Governor Seyi Makinde, Governor Ademola Adeleke, Governor Peter Mbah, Governor Umo Eno , Governor Duoye Diri , Governor Godwin Obaseki , Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa , Governor Caleb Mutfwang , Governor Dapo Abiodun , Governor Bala Mohammed, former governor Kayode Fayemi, former governor Abdulfatah Ahmed were among dignitaries that attended the funeral of Mrs. Florence Saraki in Lagos on Friday.
Also at the event were Chief Peter Obi, former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe, former Minister for Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, former rep Monshood Mustapha, former rep Ladi Edun , former Senator Dino Melaye, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, and Alhaji AbdulKadir Manko.
The matriarch of the Saraki family ,Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 89.
Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike’s husband, late Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki, a medical doctor and a notable Nigerian political figure, died on November 14, 2012, at the age of 79.
Among Mrs. Morenike’s children are Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, a former governor of Kwara state and President of the 8th senate and Gbemisola Saraki, a former member of the House of Representatives ,who later represented Kwara Central in the senate between 2003 and 2011, and also served as minister during the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
