In Pictures: Gov Bagudu Thanks Former Cabinet Members For Their Support At ‘Valedictory Meeting’ In Birni Kebbi

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state on Wednesday extolled the sterling contributions of members of the State Executive Council that was dissolved earlier in the day..

  Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  noted that the governor said this during the ‘valedictory meeting’ held  at the Council Chamber. Government House,  Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

 Bagudu , he added, expressed his personal appreciation and that of the government to the former cabinet members.

Bagudu, who is the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum,  also acknowledged  the immeasurable sacrifices of the former cabinet  members noting  that this  had propelled the development of the state to an enviable height.

He also said  the dissolution was occasioned by the need to fill existing vacancies following the absence of the former Chief of Staff, who is now the National Organizing Secretary of the APC.

Similarly, two other commissioners had left because of the expiration of their leave of absence at their workplaces , staying put in his cabinet would have according to Bagudu make them lose their positions.

The governor said other vacancies  came as a result of the decision of former cabinet members to resign from their positions and seek elective office.

‘We are very proud of your individual and collective contributions and the 

enormous sacrifices to move the state forward’ he said.

Bagudu also said  good governance had  earned Kebbi state high ranking in 2021 on fiscal performance, Internally generated revenue, recurrent and capital expenditure, health indices and performance in WAEC.

The state , he added, was also  ranked the highest in transparency initiative which earned the State Seventeen million dollars.

He attributed this legacy of achievements to the contribution of the outgoing Commissioners while assuring that some of them would be considered for cabinet nominations.

Speaking on behalf of the former cabinet members, the outgoing Commissioner of Works and Transport, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan thanked the governor for finding them worthy to serve in his cabinet.

Ladan reaffirmed their commitment and loyalty to the governor and promised to work towards the victory of the ruling APC in the forthcoming elections .

‘ We are ready to come for any other assignment the governor will give us’ he averred. 

The Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Babale Umar Yauri, the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena and the Special Adviser on Power, Alhaji Yusuf Haruna Rasheed attended the ‘valedictory meeting’- –Team@orientactualmags.com
