Two days after his defection to APC from the PDP, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun, a veteran politician, has gotten good signals from the ‘domestic front’; the Odo-Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe federal constituency.
Alhaji Oyedokun is an indigene of Inisha , Odo-Otin local government.
The warm welcome given the former PDP BoT member after his defection has definitely signaled a shift in the APC’s ability to attract more people to the party.
Alhaji Kareem Afolabi, Pa B.F Bello, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Bayo Adeleke aka Banik, Chief Adekunle Moshood Oluawo, Adeyemi Razaq, Hon Kehinde Ayantunji and other APC big wigs in the federal constituency welcomed Alhaji Oyedokun into the APC with smiles and handshakes at his Inisha residence on Sunday evening.
Giving his speech, Alhaji Oyedokun thanked them for the visit while commending them for their commitment to the party and prayed that the leading opposition party will continue to get strengthened at the ward, local government and state levels.
He also said what has happened (his defection and that of others) is the tip of the iceberg while submitting that the situations that obtained in his former political party were not in any way encouraging which therefore made him have a plausible reason for taking the decision to leave the PDP.
He also added that the role he had played to stabilize the PDP even at the national level was not adequately appreciated.
Emphasizing importance of ‘integration’ and ‘unity of effort’, Alhaji Oyedokun ,who said he will promote peace in the party as a peace-loving person, however, urged the old APC members to welcome the new members with open arms.
The octogenarian politician, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, at different times served as old Oyo state NPN secretary, Secretary to the old Oyo state Government under Dr Omololu Olunloyo , PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) during Olusegun Obasanjo administration and Chairman of Michael Imodu National Institute for Labour Studies, (MINILS), Ilorin, during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
