India Finally Releases Pigeon Arrested For Espionage After Being Kept Under Surveillance For 8 Months

A pigeon that was arrested for espionage in India last year was freed on Tuesday.

The pigeon was captured in May last year by officers at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Police station  and  it was  since then kept at the Bai sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals in Mumbai .

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the pigeon was kept under surveillance  for 8 months.

‘The pigeon was caught in May last year at Pir Pau Jetty in suburban Chembur by the RCF police. The bird had two rings — one of copper and another of aluminum — tied to its leg and messages written in a Chinese-like script on the underside of both its wings’  police had submitted.

.

Further investigation however  submitted that there was another explanation for the Chinese characters on the bird’s wings.

Although the bird’s innocence was quickly established, it was made to  remain in captivity for eight months while it was also stated that  the hospital misconstrued police instructions to free the pigeon once it becomes healthy.

Once the bird was cleared, the Bombay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals took custody and freed the pigeon on  Tuesday.

Recall that border security officers had taken   a pigeon into custody in 2016 after it was also found carrying a threatening message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi close to India’s border with arch-rival, Pakistan–Team@orientactualmags.com
