‘Intractable’ Ifon-Ilobu Communal Violence: Osun APC Alleges Ineptitude, Urges President Tinubu To ‘Take Charge’
Osun State APC on Friday reacted to the renewed communal violence involving Ifon-Osun and Ilobu communities lamenting that this had happened 8 times in 18 months while it had claimed over 30 lives with many houses, shops and vehicles set ablaze.
Spokesman for the party, Chief Kola Olabisi in a statement he issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com laid the blame for the intractable communal violence at Governor Ademola Adeleke’s door while alleging ineptitude.
‘The crisis between Ifon-Osun and Ilobu has become a recurrent decimal as all the efforts of the Adeleke administration to nip it in the bud has proved abortive as there has not been the desired political will by the ruling government to solve the problem.
We commiserate with the relations of the victims of the needless crisis who have lost their beloved ones due to the fact that the man at the helm of affairs in the state has not gotten what it takes to attract peace and good governance.
It is on record that Iddo-Osun, Egbedi, Esa-Oke and other communities in the state have recently gotten their own share of the carnages induced by the inability of Governor Adeleke to give good leadership’ the party submitted while alleging that those promoting violence in the communities in question are members and chieftains of the PDP.
Osun State APC has therefore urged President Bola Tinubu to ‘take charge’ in order to ensure security of lives and property in the affected communities.
‘We call on the Federal Government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency, come to the aid of the people of the feuding communities by instructing the statutory security services to take control as the state governor has demonstrated sheer lack of capacity to protect and secure the lives and property of the citizens of Osun State’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
