Is Kwara APC Now Operating Like A Cult?- Kola KingĀ

Before any one starts to castigate me or label my write-up as one that was done at the instigation of someone or sponsored by some people, let me make this point very clear that I take full responsibility for what I have penned here but as always, I stand to be corrected if my knowledge of the process is adjudged to be limited.

Well, what led to the title of my write-up has nothing to do with anything else other than the public announcement made by the Kwara State APC in respect of the state Congress that is scheduled to hold at Arca Center, Ilorin, on 3rd March 2026, but with so many people (because I would be wrong to say no one) not knowing anything about the list of delegates mentioned in the said announcement.

I have taken time to ask so many people that I thought should be in the know, but the responses have always been that it is only the State Party Secretariat and/or the State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi who can provide answer to my question.Ā

Mr Kola Moses

Wow! This is not only amazing but calls for questioning hence the question I posed above through the title of this write-up.

Consequently, I believe there is a very huge communication lacuna that needs to be addressed by those concerned, from our amiable Gov. Mallam AA, who undoubtedly is the leader of the Party in State, the State’s Party Chairman, the Secretary of the Party in the State as well as anyone and everyone connected with the upcoming event, without further delay.

Just a short statement about a big democratic event like a State Congress without full details of who the delegates are, the requisite qualifications used to determine those who were chosen as delegates, including all other details that have to do with the programme, and who and who are expected and not supposed to be at the venue of the state congress, showed that there is more to it than meet the eyes.

In all sincerity, it is my candid view that as an ordinary stakeholder from my Ward just as other like-minded faithful Party Members that I know and have spoken with, the State Congress of the party should be made more open than what the organizers have put forward, considering the various directives hitherto rolled out by the National Headquarters of the Party.

As usual, I am just thinking aloud ooo but as said earlier, I stand to be corrected!- Mr Kola King Moses, a political pundit, writes from Ilorin, Kwara State
