It’s Celebration Of ‘Life Of Excellence’ As Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki Turns 60 Today–Baba Idris

At 12 am today, Monday, December 19 2022, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, reached another milestone; he is not only another year older but he has also turned 60!

Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, a United Kingdom trained medical doctor, was the 13th President of the Nigerian Senate and he headed the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019.

He had before then served as former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s Special Assistant and governor of Kwara state. Dr Saraki was the governor of Kwara state between 2003 and 2011- he was the fifth executive governor.

Though, he was first among equals while serving as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, people however still make reference to what he did and how he made the NGF gain political relevance – his unrivalled track record has gotten recognized by all.

Many have also ranked him as Kwara’s best governor since the present dispensation began in 1999.

Dr Saraki’s sixty years on the planet earth has featured unwavering pursuit of goodness and justice , he has continued to build on his record as a strong believer in altruism while also striving to be the best he can be and doing the best he can do.

One of the qualities the former senate president possesses which may be lacking in many others is the ability to connect with the people; all segments of society especially the young people.

He makes the young people around him feel at home and ensures that they both find a commonality discussing matters concerning the future of the young people in the country.

This discovery of commonality makes it easy for him to have the young people influenced and make them see the importance of civic action , public service and nationalism.

Dr Saraki’s life has exemplified compassion, justice, wisdom, tolerance and humor and he has been known for always doing what is right even if it’s not popular, he will later get vindicated.

When Dr Saraki announced that he had taken a decision to leave the APC for the PDP on July 31 2018, many had considered it as an unwise decision but seeing what the party had become today, those who had such an opinion, must have by now realized that he had plausible reasons to have arrived at such a decision.

Dr Saraki loves Nigeria and he is religiously committed to getting things changed for the better in this country.

He has continued to set examples for the young people to follow.

Dr Saraki has continued to help the young people achieve their goals and discover their talents, since meeting him a few years ago, he has turned my life around for the better.

He is an influential politician, love or hate him, Dr Saraki is one of the people, who have helped to shape this country.

He has followed in the footsteps of his late father; lDr Olusola Saraki, who was the Senate Leader during the second republic and a prominent Nigerian politician.

The Baba Idris that he chose as one of his mentees a few years ago is now a former gubernatorial aspirant, what a transformation in my life! My constituency; the young people, will definitely see this as a beautiful and motivational story . .

Yes, Iam an engineer but I have gotten exposed to so many different disciplines through our dear Waziri of Ilorin.

God has used you to transform my life. I will continue to show gratitude and respect to you sir.

Dr Bukola Saraki is also a devout Muslim , a good father and a husband, as we speak , he is in the holy land of Medinah to thank God for His Mercies and Blessings.

Dr Saraki has a supporting spouse, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, , who is a mother-figure and she has been a role model for Nigerian women while also mentoring young people .

My dear Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki , a father-figure and a great mentor, I have the highest respect and admiration for you, sir, you have been my hero, your influence has impacted my life, and I thank you for the great leadership.

In you, I have found tremendous inspiration for my own life, you have continued to stand up for everything that is right, I and many others look up to you.

Let us raise a toast and wish our dear leader, a mentor and a great Nigerian, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki a happy birthday.

Happy 60th birthday anniversary sir.

Baba Idris , a social commentator and a former Kwara state PDP gubernatorial aspirant, writes from Ilorin
