It’s ‘No Laughing Matter’ As PDP NWC Sends Expulsion Certificates To Wike, Fayose, Ajibade, Others By Courier
The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday made it clear that it is ‘no laughing matter’ with regard to the decisions taken during its 2025 national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State last month as the highest organ of the party has not only ratified the expulsion of FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, former governor Ayodele Fayose and others, but also issued their certificates of expulsion.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the party disclosed this in an X.com post on Tuesday while noting that the certificates of expulsion were issued during the NWC meeting held in Abuja.
The party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, the party added, also formally handed over to the new chairman, Kabiru Turaki on Tuesday.
‘We have taken note of the fact that Nigerian law frowns on dual membership of political parties, and so we have sought to make it easy for them.
Now that they are no longer members of our party, and now that the National Convention, which is the highest decision-making organ of our party, has expelled them, we have decided to issue them certificates of expulsion.
So that, when they go to register with other political parties in Nigeria, they will show these certificates as proof that they are no longer members of the PDP, and so those parties will not accuse them of trying to belong to more than one political party’ a statement made available on X.com quoted Alhaji Turaki as saying.
The certificates in question, he added, have been sent to Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose; Samuel Anyanwu; Umaru Bature; Kamarudeen Ajibade (SAN); Abdurahman Muhammad; Mao Ohuabunwa; Austin Nwachukwu; Abraham Amah Nnanna; George Turna; Chief Dan Orbih and others by courier.
He added that the step taken had become necessary in order to inform Nigerians and relevant institutions, including INEC and security agencies of the new status of the affected individuals.
The Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other government agencies should according to him ‘know that these people are no longer members of our party. They have been expelled. They remain expelled. We have now certified their expulsion, and these certificates have been sent to them’.
‘We hope that members of the PDP in Nigeria and the diaspora will know that the party has once again, gotten rid of the cankerworms that have been afflicting and creating problems for us in our activities’ he said.
The PDP National Chairman added that the party is now focused on rebuilding and getting prepared to offer Nigerians ‘credible leadership’ ahead of the 2027 General Election-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
