It’s Still ‘Studied Silence’ As Aregbesola’s Expulsion Letter Surfaces Online

Though all eyes have been on Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, a one-time governor of Osun State and former Minister of Interior, to see how he will respond to recent developments in the state ‘political circle’, cognizant that the central issue has been his continued membership of the APC or otherwise, there has been no reaction from him.
Recall that the Omoluabi Progressives, a group comprising members of Osun state APC who are loyalists of the former minister had earlier this week announced the decision to leave the party.
The group made this known in a statement issued by its Organizing and Publicity Secretary, Abosede Oluwaseun after an important meeting that was held in Ilesa on Sunday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the decision taken by the Omoluabi Progressives to leave the APC was sequel to the referendum conducted by leaders of the group which had supporters of the minister in the 323 Wards participating.
The development recorded on Sunday which had since dominated discussions in Osun State ‘political circle’, had also returned attention to a contentious issue- Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s continued membership of the APC.
While many had looked forward to having Aregbesola’s letter of resignation from the APC being one of the party’s bigwigs who cannot quit APC via a press statement by the group, his letter of expulsion from the party has surfaced online.

Interestingly, the expulsion letter predates the announcement of the decision to leave the APC by the Omoluabi Progressives .

Proof of delivery was also made available to confirm that the letter in question was delivered to Ogbeni Aregbesola.

In the letter of expulsion titled ‘Allegations of Anti-Party Activities – Conveyance of State Exco Decision to You’ which was jointly signed by the state APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal and Secretary, Mr Alao Kamoru, Aregbesola was accused of breaching Article 21 of the party’s constitution, which outlines disciplinary measures for members.
‘At the end of the investigation, the State Executive Committee (SEC) considered the report of the Disciplinary Committee. Having carefully reviewed the findings and recommendations, the SEC resolved to approve your immediate expulsion from the APC.
The decision was predicated on clear evidence of your actions, which undermined the unity and integrity of the party. As a result, you are no longer a member of the APC and must refrain from holding yourself out as one or acting on behalf of the party in any capacity’ the party submitted.
Despite the odd goings-on, it has been ‘studied silence’ as Aregbesola has refused to make a speech or issue a statement directly or send his letter of resignation to the party-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
