I’ve Taken Decision Not To Hold Public Office Anymore But ‘ll Remain ‘An Active Politician’-Bafarawa

One of the prominent politicians in the country, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhattu Bafarawa, has submitted that having gotten a fill of political appointment, he will no longer seek party nomination ahead of elections or accept any political appointment.

Bafarawa however clarified that he will remain actively involved in politics.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Bafarawa, a former governor of Sokoto state,  who said this  during the visit of   members of the Correspondents’’ Chapel, Sokoto state to  his residence , submitted  that having been involved in active politics for over 40 years, ‘it is time to quit the stage and let the younger generation to contribute their quota to the development of the country’.

‘I have been involved in politics for over 40 years. Actually, I became a councilor in the year 1976 and up till today, I’ve remained in politics.

I never said I am done with politics, no, I am still very much involved in politics and I believe I will continue to be, probably till I’m gone.

What I’m done with is any elective or political appointments. I thank God for what I have achieved and the impact I have made at the various stages of my political career.

I will continue to contribute my own quota to the Nigeria politics’ he added.

The former governor has also condemned the idea of people prioritizing what they will gain from politics with regard to money rather than service to the people,

‘When I joined politics in the 70s, my aim then was to develop the state and the country and not for making money.

I feel somehow these days when I hear of politicians spending billions of naira to become a governor or senator.

We need to remember that there would be day of judgment and whatever we do today, all of us will account for our deeds in this life.

It is time for all our elected leaders to go back to the drawing board and fulfill their electioneering promises to the people’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
