Veteran Nollywood Actors Who Hit The Campaign Trail For President Tinubu In 2023 ‘Angry’, ‘Unhappy’-Alapini

Mr Ganiu Nafiu, an actor, who is popularly called Alapini, has disclosed that veteran actors in the country, who joined the campaign trail for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election, are at present feeling upset and angry claiming that they have been neglected after supporting and ‘marketing’ the Renewed Hope agenda.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Alapini commented about the roles they played during the electioneering and other issues in an interview on ‘Behind the Fame – African A-List TV’, a YouTube channel.

The popular actor, who spoke in Yoruba, said the Nollywood veteran actors are disappointed.

‘We were campaigning with joy thinking that our messiah has arrived, because Tinubu is someone we have loved for many years, and he has been helpful to actors. That was why we came out to support him for two months. We spent two months campaigning for him’ he said.

Alapini lamented that the veteran actors have been left in the lurch as they have been made to face backlash and deal with strong negative reactions for the roles they played during the campaigns.

‘Maybe they are not in the right frame of mind to think about giving anything in return yet’ he submitted when asked if they have gotten support from the government after the 2023 general election.

‘Would Seyi claim that he did not see us the old folks when we were out there campaigning?

Would Seyi say he did not notice our presence, the senior actors?

We were over a hundred. We were all walking around, both young and old.

We even campaigned in areas where some individuals could not venture into.

I was entering markets when I am not a mad man. They did not give us anything.

People were cursing us in comment sections when we were campaigning.

My friend Olaiya Igwe, who stripped himself naked at the beach because of Tinubu.

The curses that were placed on him, up till now he hasn’t been freed from them’ he added.

The veteran actor also clarified and asserted  that Igwe  did not receive a car gift as rumoured after showing support for Tinubu at the beach.

 ‘Who gave him? It was definitely not the president’s men’ he submitted.

Would he be supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027? ‘I haven’t thought about it yet’ he quipped..

‘It is not even about second term campaign. Maybe our only form of support will be curses for anyone who chooses to vote for him. Seyi is now moving around in the North paying their hospital bills.

Aren’t there sick people here in Yorubaland too?
