Judge Orders Arrest, Detention Of Zamfara Agric Commissioner For Contempt Of Court
Justice Bello Shinkafi of the Zamfara State High Court , Gusau on Monday ordered that the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Ibrahim Magayaki should be arrested and kept behind bars for contempt of court.
He ordered that the commissioner be remanded in the Correctional Centre in Gusau, citing the provisions of Section 6 of the Penal Code Law.
Justice Shinkafi said the commissioner disrespected the court order in a suit between the Zamfara state government and Dumbulum investment.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Shinkafi also noted that Dumbulum Investment had secured a court ruling to have some movable properties belonging to the state government including tractors attached, the Agriculture commissioner however defied the court order and sold some of the tractor parts.
Mr Misbahu Salauddeen, who is the counsel for the creditors and applicants, told newsmen shortly after the court sitting that the remand order was based on an application by his clients.
