Justin Welby Haunted By Past Mistakes, Resigns As Archbishop Of Canterbury

The global head of the Anglican Church, Justin Welby, who is the Archbishop of Canterbury, has resigned from his position.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he announced his decision to resign from his position on Tuesday.
Justin, who has gotten haunted by past mistakes had gotten under the spotlight following a review that revealed that he and senior church leaders covered up the abuse of over 100 boys and young men.
Justin Welby had last week insisted that he would not resign after giving it ‘a lot of thought’.
He had in a statement on Thursday noted that he was ‘deeply sorry that this abuse happened’ and also ‘sorry that concealment by many people who were fully aware of the abuse over many years meant that John Smyth was able to abuse overseas and died before he ever faced justice’.
‘I had no idea or suspicion of this abuse before 2013’ he added.
Justin however submitted on Tuesday that his decision to step aside ‘is in the best interests of the Church of England’.
‘I must take personal and institutional responsibility for the long and retraumatising period between 2013 and 2024.
For nearly twelve years I have struggled to introduce improvements. It is for others to judge what has been done. I believe that stepping aside is in the best interests of the Church of England, which I dearly love and which I have been honoured to serve’ he said.
