The Inter- High School Football Competition organized by the Kayode Adamolekun Foundation kicked off in Aisegba, Ekiti state on Saturday.
The Football Competition organized for secondary schools in Gbonyin local government, Ekiti state kicked off at the Aisegba community Grammar school, Aisegba Ekiti.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the football competition called ‘playing for a drug- free society’ was organized by KAF in recognition of the important role sports can play when it comes to public education campaign against substance and drug abuse among high school students.
The kick off game between Aisegba Comprehensive High School, Aisegba Ekiti and Ilumoba Grammar School ended 3-0 in favour of Ilumoba football team
Also in the second game, Aisegba High School defeated Ijanmodu Comprehensive High School by 3-0.
On Saturday, Ojugbaye Comprehensive High School, Imesi Ekiti and Methodist High School, Egbe will slug it out while Ileowuro Comprehensive High School, Agbado Ekiti will face Ode High School ,Ode Ekiti.
The founder of the Foundation, Engr Kayode Adamolekun, who was represented by the chairman inter-school competition, Adebayo Adeyemi and an official of the foundation, Ojo Oluwasegun, noted that the competition was aimed at creating an avenue to take war against substance abuse to high schools, football being one of the best means of sending message to a mass audience.
Adamolekun added that organizing the football tournament also became necessary because of the high rate of substance abuse among teenagers and young people noting that the game will create an avenue to discuss with young people on the of danger of drug abuse as well as create an enabling environment for rehabilitation- Team@orientactualmags.com
