Kano Gov-elect Accuses Gov Ganduje Of Selling Govt Property To Son At Ridiculous Price

The incoming administration in Kano state which would be headed by Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf has stated its readiness to recover government property illegally acquired by officials of the outgoing Abdulahi Ganduje administration.

The incoming administration has also accused Governor Ganduje of selling government property to members of his family.

Chairman of the Recovery of Public Assets Subcommittee of the NNPP Gubernatorial Transition Council, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi told journalists on Wednesday that the Kano state Public Procurement Bureau office popularly called Due Process Office located at State Road  has been allegedly sold to Governor Ganduje’s son,  Abba, at a ridiculous price of less than N10 million.

‘We are deeply worried, the manner in which the outgoing administration is mortgaging the common patrimony of the good people of Kano state leaves much to be desired’ he said.

Such an action, he added, ‘is akin to vandalism’ of every structure of governance.

‘This place (Due Process Office) was sold for less than N10 million and we are aware that the boy has sold it for over N300 million. You are literally giving him the place free of charge and asking him to go and get a buyer.

We feel that this is the most unfortunate destruction of public property that anybody could ever imagine’ he said.
