Kano Gov Sets Up 8-Member Committee To Investigate Role Of Transportation Commissioner In Bail Granted To Drug Baron

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has set up a committee to investigate the role of the state Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Ibrahim Ali Namadi in the drug-related charges being faced by an alleged drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Dan Wawu.

Recall that Hon Namadi had reportedly acted as a surety for Aminu, who had charges filed against him at the Federal High Court, Kano by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). 

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the 8-member committee set up by the governor was inaugurated by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim in Kano on Sunday.

The committee has been asked to within one week from Sunday, July 27, 2025, unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and recommend appropriate actions to the government.

The governor’s spokesman, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa noted in a statement he issued in Kano on Sunday that the committee has the Special Adviser on Justice and Constitutional Matters, Barrister Aminu Hussaini as its chairman.

Members of the committee are Barrister Hamza Haladu, Barrister Hamza Nuhu Dantani, Director General, Special Services Directorate, retired Major General Muhammad Sani , Comrade Kabiru Dakata, and Professor Mamun Mustapha of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

Others are: Alh. Abdullahi Mahmud Umar, Commissioner II , Civil Service Commission and Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Mai Mota, Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, office the SSG, who is the Secretary of the committee-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
