Kaura Gwandu’s Investment Drive To Reposition Kebbi’s Economy-Yahaya Sarki 

Finance is very important when it comes to development and progress of any country, without sufficient funds therefore, such direly needed developments will continue to be elusive. And it is in this regard, that the ever- active and prolific Chief Executive of Kebbi state, Dr Nasiru Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has never relented in garnering more resources for the rapid development of the Equity state, Kebbi. This, he has been doing tirelessly within and outside Nigeria. These efforts are indeed germane and timely.

Consequently, the recent foreign trip by His Excellency, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris ,Kauran Gwandu, accompanied by some members of his cabinet was aimed at attracting more committed genuine foreign investors to come to Kebbi state to harness the diverse economic potential of the state in various sectors.

By this action , the economy of Kebbi state is on the path to prosperity. Thriving extant firms like Labana and WACOT rice companies can tell the happy story better.  

It is because of this conviction that our dear Kebbi state is blessed with untapped abundant natural resources and the need to up-scale revenue generation into the purse of the state as well as provide reliable employment opportunities for our young people ,  that Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu gave premium to investment drive as one of the cardinal agenda of his administration. 

The state has already made a landmark in rice and other agricultural products leading to the establishment of flourishing rice mills. This is because, the state over the years has been synonymous with rice production , helping Nigeria to stop importation of rice as well as increase the production of the commodity in the country. 

The above indisputable and incontestable fact is formidably corroborated by the towering local , national and international image of the governor , and indeed, that of the Equity State, Kebbi state. Kebbi state  citizens have rekindled their hope  as the Kauran Gwandu-led administration is set to deliver in every facet of human life, infrastructural development, politics, education, health, empowerment, water supply, sports and especially in agriculture and security among others. 

Kebbi state under Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris,  the Kauran Gwandu’s leadership,  is now on the verge of occupying its proper place in history and  he will be putting the state on the map.

Kauran Gwandu is now the beacon of hope in Kebbi state and the country when it comes to matters of trade union dispute resolution between the government and labour, this is because of Kauran Gwandu’s record as a veteran and iconic labour leader.

It is in recognition of his towering standing in labour matters in Nigeria that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed the Kauran Gwandu as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Palliatives . The committee is into talks with the NLC and  the TUC sequel to the removal of petrol subsidy and its concomitant hardships.

The commencement of massive infrastructural development in the construction of roads, drainages, construction of befitting Secretariat edifice for the workers, and free distribution of fertiliser to our hardworking farmers and myriad of other tangible and invaluable achievements, particularly the improvement in the security of lives and property in areas facing security challenges in the state were happily recorded, courtesy of the people’s governor just within his first 100 days  in office . 

 Therefore, the overseas trip of the governor to attract foreign investment is apt and timely. The governor of a state like Kebbi and indeed  other Nigerian governors, or the President can effectively govern his country or state by interfacing with foreign investors  to attract the much -needed investments to net more prosperity for the state and its people. 

Our hard working Governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu’s  commitment to patriotism, transparency and the delivery of the direly -needed dividends of democracy to the electorate is unparalleled .

Certainly, any governor, who desires to bring development to his people must routinely move in and out of his state to other parts of the country and other parts of the world, all with a view to attracting more developmental projects to his own dear state.  This is usually achieved through mutual and sustainable collaborations between nations and indeed federating states of a country, like Nigeria.

 Any right- thinking indigene of Kebbi state or even an avid observer of the monumental transformation that has been going on in Kebbi state, since the assumption of office of Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu from 29 May, 2023 to date, can only seriously  commend Kauran Gwandu for starting on a sound footing and in the right direction. 

The routine trips of Kauran Gwandu were necessitated by the exigencies of his office, in order to provide good governance and fend for the daily needs of the people of the state, ranging from the workers, farmers and the generality of the populace . These trips of the governor are and are still desirable and important because his services are not only needed in Kebbi state, but, in Nigeria as a whole.

Kauran Gwandu is a man of many fields and a governor , a traditional title holder  in Gwandu Emirate.

 He is the ‘ Kauran Gwandu ‘ , he had at different times served as state Chairman and National President of NUT and Vice President of NLC to mention but a few.

It is also glaring that, the regular meetings and engagements of the people’s governor were sometimes at the Presidency, other Federal Government Agencies, as well as myriad of other relevant local and International Organizations. These are all in his determined bid and an unwavering commitment to attracting more developments to Kebbi State. 

Any patriotic follower of events in Kebbi state can only pray for the success of the governor and that his efforts will yield a lot of tangible fruits for the people of the state who have been yearning for rapid development for the state to catch up with its peers in the country .

It is also on record that, the people of the state are fully informed about the governor’s engagements by his  dedicated Media Aides, whose pens have never dried up and they are always widely and strategically disseminating the activities of the governor to not only the people of the state, but also Nigerians and the world at large. 

This can be gladly attested to by any ardent follower of the local, national, international conventional and Online Media, including the various social media platforms.

So, one can safely and happily say, without fear of any contradiction that Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu’s trips  would attract dividends of democracy to  the state.
