Kebbi Gov-elect, Nasiru Idris, Receives Certificate Of Return In Birni Kebbi

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,   has issued and presented Certificate of Return to  Kebbi state governor-elect,  Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, ditto the Deputy Governor-elect, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida and ten House of Assembly members-elect.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  on Wednesday  by Mr. Yahaya Sarki noted that the presentation ceremony was  held  at the INEC headquarters, Birnin Kebbi adding that this was jointly  presided over  by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Barrister Ahmad Bello Muhammad  and  the commission’s National Commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, Professor Muhammad Sani Kalla.

Also present were the State Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawal Daura, representatives of the State Director, DSS and other heads of security agencies.

Barrister Ahmad Bello Mahmud called   issuance of certificate of return to elected candidates the last process of INEC’s timetable  ahead of inauguration  of the new leaders.

He  urged the governor-elect to maximally harness the agricultural potential of Kebbi state for optimum benefits submitting  that agriculture has the highest contribution to Nigeria’s GDP  than oil.

Giving vote of thanks, the Governor-elect, Dr. Nasir Idris, thanked INEC and security agencies, for providing an enabling environment for the people of Kebbi state to perform their civic duty.

He  thanked the people of the state for giving him the mandate to serve them, promising to  improve their lives.

The governor-elect also acknowledged the rich potential of natural resources in Kebbi state, promising that his administration would prioritize agricultural development.

He also promised to complete ongoing projects started by incumbent government and initiate new ones for the socio-economic prosperity of the people of Kebbi state.

 The governor-elect immediately left for the  Government House to present his certificate of return to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

He thanked  Bagudu for providing all requirements that made his election victory possible.

He also said he was happy that an APC administration would be succeeding the current APC government and therefore ensure continuity and development.

The governor-elect , who promised  that himself and others would forever remain loyal to Governor Atiku Bagudu , also solicited for cooperation from the populace.

Responding,  Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu congratulated the governor-elect, his deputy and members-elect of the House of Assembly on receiving certificates of return noting  that the people of the state owe a big gratitude to God for His mercies.

He equally thanked the people of the state for their solidarity, while also appreciating  INEC, security agencies, the media, drivers and facilitators who provided the required logistics.
