Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has emphasized the importance of commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators to the transportation sector in the country and by extension the nation’s economy.
He has therefore urged the motorcycle and tricycle operators to adhere to the rules and regulations guiding the affairs of their union .
Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the governor said this while giving his speech during the stakeholder summit organized by the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and motorcycle owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria, ACOMORAN in Abuja on Friday.
He called on them to register themselves with relevant authorities so that they can be identified as genuine business operators.
‘ I have urged them to register themselves even organizing themselves to be identified because some criminals are taking advantage of the business or equipment that is predominantly for them ‘ he said.
Other speakers at the summit and concerned stakeholders in the transportation sector ,called for the digitalization and regulation of the activities of tricycle and motorcycle operators in the country.
The strategic stakeholder summit had as its theme ‘Mutually beneficial integration of Motorcycles and tricycles into public transportation system in Nigeria: The harmless approach’.
