Kebbi Gov Joins Other Stakeholders To Discuss Cross -Border Cooperation In Benin Republic
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has attended the meeting held in Republic of Benin to discuss implementation of the local border cooperation programmes phase II.
The meeting was designed to create a platform for planning and strengthening the legal and institutional frameworks, as well as the national mechanism to promote local Cross-border cooperation and to support inter- communities in the territorial animal husbandry and implementation of priority projects.
The governor was represented by the Commissioner for Animal Health, Husbandry and Fisheries, Alhaji Aminu Garba Dandiga.
The Deputy Head of the Swiss International Cooperation in Benin Bjorn Schranz also promised continued support for Kebbi, Nigeria, Niger, Benin and Togo and to provide eleven billion CFA to mitigate climate crisis and multidimensional fragility which are the causes of security challenges.
Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday that the meeting was also attended by the Prefect of Alibori, Ahmad Bello Ky-Samah, DG, National boundary Commission, Adamu Adanji and the DG, Benin ABEGIEF, Marcel Baglo.
Others at the meeting were: Head, Nigerian German Cooperation(GIZ), Bakary Sanou. Sarkin Shiko Kamba, Alhaji Muhammadu Zarumai ,the Chairman of Arewa LGA , Hon. Sani Kulita, Chairman of Bagudo LGA, Hon Aliyu Sambo Zagga, Chairman of Dandi LGA, AbdulSalam Jibril Kamba , Chairman of Suru LGA, Muhammad Lawal Suru LGA and Dr. Faruk Tarfa, Deputy Director, National Border Commission.
Experts in cross- border cooperation structures from Benin, Burkina, Cote d’Ivoire, Togoa and ECOWAS also attended the meeting- Team@orientactualmags.com
