Kebbi Governor Lays Foundation Stone Of  Skill Acquisition Center In Bagudo

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has begun  the construction of an ultramodern Skill Acquisition Centre in Bagudo, Bagudo Local Government , Kebbi state.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu CON,  presided over the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony of the centre on Thursday.

The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of NASENI ,  Professor Muhammad Sani Haruna while giving his speech noted that the establishment of the centre was in fulfillment of the Federal Government’s employment generation strategy as  championed and promoted by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He added that such centres that will be established across the country were designed to train more technology-based professionals in the country.

Haruna noted that the people expected to participate  include craftsmen and women, technicians and technologists, scientists and engineers as well as other tech.-based professionals.

The executive vice chairman said the centres were also designed to meet the challenges of technology and fill the extant gaps created by the shortage of artisans, craftsmen and women.

Haruna added that the centre would be adequately equipped with the basics to cater for modern training of competitive workforce

He further said that graduands of the centre would be ready for self- employment generation and entrepreneurship.

Haruna commended Justice Minister, Abubakar Malami, SAN for making 20-hectare of land available for the establishment of the centre.

He also lauded other collaborating agencies like NBTE and other relevant agencies. 

Professor Muhammad Sani Haruna commended Kebbi state governor for the invaluable support towards the actualization of the center and other activities of NASENI through the Nigerian Governors’ Forum , NGF and the National Economic Council by  mobilizing financial support for the  center . 

Haruna also thanked Bagudu for his sustained support through the NGF and the National Economic Council in respect of proper funding of the agency.

He also commended  President Buhari for his commitment to transformative measures to promote tech-based knowledge leading to the emergence of a new NASENI.

Also speaking, Governor  Bagudu acknowledged the myriad of developmental strides engineered by Buhari in Kebbi State, North West and Nigeria in general.

He said the APC has focused attention on the even socio-economic development of the state.

Bagudu appealed to the people of the state to reciprocate the invaluable kind gestures by voting for Tinubu, Shettima and other APC candidates in the upcoming general election.

Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, also chronicled developmental projects, policies and programmes of the federal government that had changed the hitherto negative narratives of poverty, hunger and unemployment in Kebbi State and Nigeria in general.

 APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Nasiru Idris, Kauran Gwandu, said the centre would reduce thuggery, youth restiveness and drug addiction.

He also commended President Buhari and the Chairman of the agency for bringing development to Kebbi State.

 350 units of smokeless stove and pressure pots were distributed to rural women in Bagudu Local Government  during the event as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari through NASENI

The executive vice Chairman explained that the objective of the introduction of smokeless stoves to  the rural women by FGN was to discourage the use of firewood and minimize deforestation.
