Kebbi Govt Issues Fresh Statement On Abdussalam Faskari, Calls ‘Latest Information’ Good News

Kebbi State government on Sunday retracted the press statement that was issued on Abdussalam Rabiu Faskari, the winner of the 39th Annual Qur’an Recitation Competition on Friday.

Recall that the state government had in the press statement in question offered its condolences to Katsina State government and its people on the reported death of Abdussalam Rabiu Faskari.

He had been reportedly killed by bandits along with his father and brother.

 Kebbi State Government in a statement issued in Birni Kebbi and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Governor Nasir Idris’ Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki on Sunday not only retracted the one that was issued on Friday but also noted that this was done in good faith.

The state government noted that the statement issued on Friday was based on the information at its disposal and it was meant to ‘express sincere sympathy and solidarity with the family, the Government and the people of Katsina State’.

 ‘As a government that values excellence and dedication, we hold Abdussalam Rabiu Faskari in high esteem, having witnessed his remarkable performance during the recent competition that was successfully and proudly held in Birnin Kebbi.

We, are, however, extremely relieved and overjoyed to learn that Abdussalam Rabiu Faskari, his father, and his brother are alive and in good health.

 This good and soothing news brings great comfort not only to the people of Katsina State but also to the people of Kebbi State, who have developed admiration for him.

We are also sincerely and deeply regretting any distress or inconvenience our initial press release may have caused to the family, the Government of Katsina State, and the entire people of the state.

 It was never our intention to add to their pain but rather to show our support and concern during a difficult time. 

As we apologetically retract our earlier statement, we continue to fervently pray for Allah’s divine intervention in ensuring the safety and well-being of all those affected by insecurity in our nation.

 We stand in solidarity with the Katsina State Government and remain hopeful for the safe return of all abductees from their abductors.
