Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Waba on Tuesday urged Kebbi state civil servants and other citizens of the state to vote overwhelmingly for the APC governorship candidate, Comrade Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu) in the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com said the governor , Comrade Ayuba Wabba, leaders and members of labour unions and different APC support groups in the state, who chanted solidarity songs , took to the streets of Birnin Kebbi , the state capital in solidarity with Dr. Nasir Idris.
At the Haliru Abdu Stadium , Birnin Kebbi, the governor, NLC National President and leaders of affiliate unions as well as politicians took turns to address hundreds of people who were largely members of the NLC .
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu appreciated the NLC for holding its NEC meeting in the state and especially for declaring its support for Dr. Nasir Idris..
Bagudu, who is the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum , emphasized that the NLC has the right to support its own noting that in a democratic setting all are invited to take part in leadership selection process. .
He thanked all the labour unions and the people of Kebbi State for supporting the APC Gubernatorial candidate.
Comrade Ayuba Wabba said the gathering was a clear message of solidarity and support for Dr. Nasir Idris.
He noted that Dr. Nasir Idris has all the qualities of a good leader and capable of providing good governance like Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu had according to him done in the state.
‘ Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has delivered, so will Dr. Nasir Idris also deliver’ he averred.
He asked all civil servants in the state and the retirees to lend their support and vote for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris in the guber election and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in the Kebbi Central Senate election .
‘ This is the first time in Nigeria that we are doing this, and we are doing this because he is one of us ‘ he said.
Also speaking, former Chief of Staff, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, who is currently the APC National Organizing Secretary , Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, (Jarman Kabi) immensely thanked the NLC and its members for supporting the candidacy of Dr. Nasir Idris- Team@orientactualmags.com
