Kebbi Mosque Projects: Gov Idris Emphasizes Need To Adhere To Specifications

Kebbi State governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris has issued a stern warning to the people who are overseeing the rehabilitation of mosques across the state to ensure that they adhere strictly to project specifications.

This, he noted, will make them construct mosques that can stand the test of time.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement he issued in Birni Kebbi  on Friday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that under the Kauran Gwandu Mosque Projects 2025, a total of 100 mosques across the 21 local governments in  the state ‘are being refurbished following the governor’s approval’.

‘To ensure compliance, a monitoring team led by the governor’s  Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imran Usman, embarked on a statewide inspection tour.

The team which includes Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs, began its assessment in Argungu Emirate, covering Argungu, Augie, Arewa, and Dandi local governments.

The inspection team visited mosques including Fingila Mosque, Masallacin Garkar Shugaba, Markaz Mosque, and Izala (Jos) Mosque in Kamba, Dandi Local Government; Tungar Sule Mosque, Masallaci near Police Station, Kangiwa, and Baraya Village Mosque in Arewa Local Government; as well as Illela Augie Ashawada Mosque, Kwaido, and Bayawa Mosques in Augie Local Government.

‘This initiative is aimed at renovating mosques that have fallen into disrepair. Solar power installations and other essentials, such as tiling, will be provided to enhance the convenience of worshippers’ he said.

Engr. Imran Usman however noted that all those handling the mosque rehabilitation projects must meet the required standards, warning that any deviation would attract consequences.

Community leaders, including imams, village, and ward heads, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Idris for his commitment to preserving the sanctity of places of worship. They also pledged their continued support for his administration.
