The umbrella association of all students, who are indigenes of Kwara state; the National Association of Kwara State Students, NAKSS, has announced the PDP gubernatorial candidate , Alh. Shuaibu Abdullahi Yaman as ‘sole gubernatorial candidate’ for the March 11 2023 governorship election .
Alhaji Shuaib’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Alhaji Wahab Oba in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that NAKSS made this known on Wednesday during the summit on leadership and entrepreneurship which was held at the main campus of the University of Ilorin.
The statement added that they also declared support for other PDP candidates in the state .
Chairman of the Kwara State Branch of the students’ body, Alawaye Musbau said the current APC government in the state ‘is a huge disappointment to the Kwara students having failed to fulfill all the promises made to them’.
‘We’re deeply convinced, having sufficiently interacted with the candidates of the political parties, that the PDP remains the only viable and dependable option for the students’ Alawaye said.
He urged his colleagues to ensure that they get their PVCs ready and vote for Alh Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi and other PDP candidates .
In his response, Alh Shuaibu Yaman promised that ‘no child will be denied quality education as a result of his or her family status’ in the state if elected as governor.
He has also pledged to revive the Students’ Loans Board to guarantee uninterrupted schooling for indigent pupils in the state while striving hard to empower the young people for a secure future.
‘We shall liaise with the authorities of the University of Ilorin to provide an efficient, effective and safe transportation system for the school’ Yaman said.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate however advised students in the state to squarely face their studies and shun all acts of hooliganism and cultism.
