Kwara CP Receives 142 New Police Constables, Emphasizes Importance Of Professionalism In Policing
Head of Kwara State police command, Mr Adekimi Ojo, a Commissioner of Police, has emphasized the importance of professionalism in policing while also stating the need for cops to be professional at all times.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement she issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday noted that CP Adekimi Ojo said this on Wednesday while receiving 142 new Police Constables at the state police command’s headquarters, Ilorin.
‘Having undergone rigorous training at the Police Training School, Ilorin for 6 months, the training came to an end with a colorful passing-out-parade ceremony on Tuesday, 7th October, 2025.
Receiving the new constables into the Nigeria Police Force, the CP urged them to uphold integrity, discipline, professionalism, and most importantly respect for the rule of law and human rights while carrying out their duties’ the statement said.
The police chief also emphasized the need to attach importance to ‘discipline’ which he called the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force.
The police constables were also urged to shun corrupt practices and work in line with best international standard procedures.
’CP Adekimi Ojo psc mnips, expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM. for his exemplary leadership style which centers on proactive intelligence-led policing and strategic community engagements. The CP thanked the IGP for providing an enabling environment for the training of the police constables.
He also thanked Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, the Executive Governor of Kwara State for his continued support for the Kwara State Police Command. His Excellency has approved a two-week comprehensive intelligence operations programme for the new police constables by retired AIG Fimihan Adeoye, the C.E.O Fimihan Adeoye Security Consult.
