Kwara Customs Chief Calls For Inter-Agency Synergy During Visit To Heads Of Security Agencies In Ilorin

The new Customs Area Controller, Kwara Command, Comptroller Kehinde Ilesanmi, has called for inter-agency synergy and cooperation among security agencies in Kwara state. 

Zakari  Chado, who is the  spokesman for the command,  noted  in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  that Ilesanmi said this during his recent visit to some heads of security agencies in the state.

Comptroller Ilesanmi, who was accompanied by some members of his management team , visited the  22 Armored Brigade, 303 Medium Airlift Group, Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, EFCC Zonal Command, Ilorin among others.

 The statement noted that Ilesanmi had done this to strengthen the existing synergy between Nigeria Customs Service and other security agencies in the state which will help greatly to stop smuggling of illegal goods into the country.

He noted that security agencies have the same goal which ‘is to maintain security in order to ensure peace and order and protect lives’. He added that this cannot be achieved without cooperation and understanding among the personnel of various agencies.

Compt. Ilesanmi reiterated that land borders in Kwara state are still closed as directed by the Federal Government promising to implement this directive to the letter.

‘Though land borders in Kwara state are very porous, but with the cooperation and collaboration of all security agencies and good citizens of the state, strong signal will be sent to evaders of duty and smugglers of prohibited items that it is not business as usual’ he said.

While pledging the readiness of customs officers to render support where and when necessary, Ilesanmi also appreciated the warm reception he got at all the places he visited.
