Kwara Environment Ministry Says ‘Modified’ Monthly Sanitation Exercise‘ll Hold May 25

Kwara state Ministry of Environment announced on Wednesday that the monthly sanitation exercise for the month of May will hold on Saturday,  May 25, 2024.

Spokesman for the ministry, Mr.  Yakub Aliagan, who disclosed this in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  noted that it would however not be done in the usual way as human and vehicular movements would be allowed. 

‘The monthly sanitation exercise will come up on Saturday, May  25, 2024 , being the last Saturday of the month, and it will be held from seven to nine o’clock in the morning (7:00 – 9:00 a m.)

This month’s exercise will be a modified one, therefore members of the public should note that, both vehicular and human movements is allowed across the state, due to the ongoing Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) organized by the National Examinations Council (NECO) as well as Teacher’s promotion exercise.

Notwithstanding, residents of the state are enjoined to fully participate in the exercise and ensure that they have clean residential and business environments.  

As usual, Waste Management trucks would be available for waste collections and subsequent disposal of same, at the dump site and illegal dump sites in some of the major areas within the state capital will be cleared.

In the light of this, residents are hereby warned that, it is an offence to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road medians, drainages, canals and other unapproved dump sites.

In the same vein, any attempt to obstruct government officials from carrying out their statutory obligations will be vehemently resisted in accordance with the law’ the statement said-Team@orientactualmags.com
