Kwara Gov Orders Immediate Construction Of Perimeter Fence At Yikpata NYSC Camp

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state has approved immediate construction of a perimeter fence at the orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Yikpata, Edu Local Government .
This decision was apparently one of the proactive measures taken by the state government to ensure security of lives and property in the state.
Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq’s Senior Special Assistant on Security , Mr Muyideen Aliyu noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Governor disclosed this during the state security council meeting held at the Government House, Ilorin on Friday.
The Governor ,he added, said the construction of a perimeter fence will help to strengthen security in the axis, noting that security agents had also been deployed to the area.
The security council meeting was according to him attended by the Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Sabah Jubril; Special Adviser on Security Matters, retired Brig-Gen. Saliu Tunde Bello , Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and all heads of security agencies in the state, including the Police, Army, Navy, Air Force, and the state security service.
The statement noted that the security commanders unanimously said Kwara remains relatively safe, compared to its neighbours, saying isolated incidents of illegal mining activities, cultism, flooding and its aftermaths, drug abuse, and opportunistic abductions were being tackled head-on.
They called on citizens to be alert and make actionable intelligence reports available to security agencies to prevent crimes while urging the political parties to play by the rules and avoid violence in any shape or form.
The council, among other issues, also extensively discussed the security challenges in Gaa Osibi-Alagbado and Oko Olowo area (Ilorin), Edu, Patigi, and Kaiama, with the Army saying soldiers had since been deployed to parts of Ifelodun, Edu, and Patigi local governments to check any threats, while the police and the NSCDC are working hard to check the activities of land grabbers and other criminals in Oko Olowo and other areas.
The council also advised the state government to carefully profile and register all okada riders in the state, especially in the Offa- Oyun axis, following new influx from other states.
The security commanders also said joint operations and intelligence sharing are being done to prevent criminals fleeing Northwest from making Kwara state a safe haven- Team@orientactualmags.com
