Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state on Wednesday visited the Olofa Stadium in Offa, during which he submitted that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will be directed to reappraise the facility and make recommendations for its reconstruction.
‘This is a 40-year-old design. So, we need to revamp it to improve the standard. The same attention will be given to the Lafiagi Stadium’ a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye quoted him to have told reporters at the stadium shortly after inspecting the facility.
AbdulRazaq, who was accompanied by former Commissioner for Water Resources Hon. Femi Agbaje, added that budgetary constraints and new socioeconomic emergencies had stalled previous efforts to revamp the facility.
‘The plan is for this stadium to also host state and national sporting events, and this will stimulate socioeconomic growth.
I have come to see the state of the stadium as it is. What we found out is that we actually need a new design for the stadium. After that, consultancy work will begin in earnest’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com
