Kwara: OWA Decries Killing Of 2 Osi Indigenes, Condemns Ekiti LG Chairman’s Role

Kwara: OWA Decries Killing Of 2 Osi Indigenes, Condemns Ekiti LG Chairman’s Role

The National Executive of Osi Welfare Association (OWA), Osi, Ekiti local government, Kwara State, has condemned in strong terms the brutal killing of two young kinsmen, Tayo Ishaq Ogundari and Oluwasegun Taye while alleging that they were killed by young people from Epe-Opin community.

This heinous act, OWA noted, is unacceptable as it has also sparked widespread outrage and tension among the people of Osi town.

OWA in a statement issued in Osi by its National President, Dr. Olu Joseph Takiti on Monday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com claimed that another kinsman, Mr Kazeem has gone missing for three days now while alleging that the chairman of Ekiti local government, Hon Wale Awelewa, who is the number one citizen and the Chief Security Officer of the local government, is not an impartial arbiter.

The statement added that there is a need for Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq to caution him.

‘The Osi community is further distressed by the disappearance of Mr. Kareem Rasaq, who has gone missing since Saturday. We call on the Kwara State government led by His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbduRasaq, the state Commissioner of Police, the Director of DSS, Kwara State command, and the federal government to intervene immediately and bring the perpetrators to justice’ the statement said.

Osi people has not only demanded justice and protection from the state government and security agencies but also urged Hon. Wale Awelewa, to stay clear of the matter and allow justice to prevail.

‘Your office is to govern, protect lives and property of the people of Ekiti LGA, not to intimidate us and waste the lives and property of innocent people.

We also call on the security agencies to swing into action and bring the perpetrators to book. The people of Osi town will not tolerate any further violence or intimidation from Epe-Opin community.

The alleged involvement of Hon. Wale Awelewa, the Chief Oluomo of Epe Community, in the crisis is disturbing and unacceptable. Osi town is known for peace and home of hospitality.

We demand that Awelewa should be held accountable for his actions, leadership incompetency, and long-term hatred for the people of Osi town. The Osi community is aware of the efforts by Awelewa to disturb the peace of the community by bringing in thugs and machineries from neighboring towns.

We implore our peace-loving governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbduRasaq, to immediately caution  Hon. Wale Awelewa, to prevent Ekiti LG from getting turned into a war zone. The Osi community has lost confidence in Hon. Awelewa’s continued governance due to his biased roles. We patiently await your immediate intervention’ OWA submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
