Kwara PDP Accuses Abdulrasaq Administration Of Misusing  Public Funds, Trying To Curry Favour With EFCC Officials

Kwara state PDP on Friday accused the  Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq administration of misusing public funds and trying to be in the good books of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)  officials at the anti-graft agency’s zonal office in Ilorin, the state capital.

     The party in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com   by its State Publicity Secretary, Hon Tunji Morounfoye  cited the story published by an online news platform  noting that the PDP ‘was not in the least surprised at the new corruption allegations brought against the Kwara state All Progressives Congress (APC) party regime’.

  The party  quoted the online news platform to have alleged that the sum of One Hundred and Thirty Seven Million, Seven Hundred and Sixteen thousand, Seven Hundred and Forty Naira, Twenty five Kobo (N137,716,740.25) was allegedly   diverted  and  used for renovation of offices and construction of sensitive security buildings for the zonal office of the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ilorin.


‘We would like to put it to the Kwara state APC party regime that, no matter how much they try to solicit the EFCC with such a Greek gift, the anti -graft agency will carry out the necessary and competent investigation of all petitions brought against the Kwara state APC party regime without fear or favour.

We can assure the Kwara state APC party regime that all agents of Kwara state Government ,who had in any way or form contravened financial laws, will not be let off the hook, just because the governor of Kwara state, Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has arbitrarily and unilaterally decided to spend Kwara state’s money on a fully- funded federal agency -EFCC.

We  do not understand the morbid fixation of the inept Kwara APC regime with the sum of one hundred and thirty eight million Naira (N138M). We are forced to remember the transformers contract fiasco where the sum of N138m was released to a contractor Mr Abass Abdulrazaq, without a bank Guarantee, which is a strict requirement of the state procurement law. Till today Kwarans have not seen the 35 transformers that were to be supplied while the contract money  has not been returned to the state coffers. Rather amusingly, Kwarans were only treated to a mild drama where the contractor was brought before  a magistrate and later released on the same day, this was done to assuage the frayed nerves of Kwarans on this repugnant issue. Since the APC regime has such trust in the ability and capacity of EFCC, to have allegedly spent hundreds of millions on the anti -graft agency’s proposed office building, we at the PDP wonder why the Kwara state APC party regime did not petition the EFCC to investigate and prosecute the alleged scam perpetuated by complicit agents of the Kwara APC regime and the contractor that was supposed to supply the transformers’ the statement said- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
