Kwara PDP Bigwigs, Clerics, Other Prominent Kwarans Attend Prayer Service Held To Mark Late Sola Saraki’s 13th Death Anniversary In Ilorin
Kwara State PDP bigwigs, family friends, Islamic clerics and well-wishers on Friday, November 14, 2025, gathered in honour of second republic Senate Leader, late Dr Abubakar Olusola Saraki .
The late political icon died on November 14, 2012, and the dignitaries attended the prayer service held to mark his 13th death anniversary in Iloffa GRA, Ilorin.
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Solih presided over the prayer service and he was assisted by other notable Islamic clerics in the state capital.
Quoting verses from the Holy Quran, the chief imam prayed for the repose of the soul of the statesman, while noting that he lived an exemplary life of kindness and philanthropy.
In his remarks, the scion of Saraki dynasty, and former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, prayed that Almighty Allah will continue to grant his father a place amongst the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus.
‘Thirteen years have passed since my father, Oloye, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, passed away.
Today, as we remember his life and enduring legacy, I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) continues to grant him a place amongst the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus. I also pray that He gives us the strength to continue honouring the great Oloye’s memory through our own humility and service to our people.
We are deeply grateful to all our friends, well-wishers, and religious leaders who joined us for the prayer service held to mark our late father, Oloye’s 13th death anniversary today in Ilorin which was presided over by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Bashir Solih’ a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com quoted him as saying.
