Kwara PDP Blames Abdulrasaq Administration For Poor Performance Of Students In WASSCE 2021

Kwara PDP Blames Abdulrasaq Administration For Poor Performance Of Students In WASSCE 2021

Kwara state PDP on Tuesday laid the blame for poor performance in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2021 by final year high school students in the State of Harmony on the current administration in the state.

The party said it was  though  vindicated but  very saddened and horrified by the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2021 results.

‘A full list of each state’s performance has been published online. The results were sourced through the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) by an online publication; the Cable Index.

Kwara state is located at the bottom of the table with one of the worst positions and results in Nigeria. On the list, we saw that Kwara state was ranked thirty fourth out of the thirty six states and the federal capital Authority, Abuja (34/37)’ the party submitted  in a statement  issued in Ilorin and made available to  Team@orientactualmags.com by its Publicity Secretary , Hon Tunji Morounfoye on Tuesday.

‘Kwara state under the corruption -challenged and mediocre All Progressives Congress (APC) party regime has since inception in 2019, continuously excoriated the last two administrations on issues of education management.

Now the PDP is vindicated, yet saddened by this horrifyingly disgraceful performance  of  WASSCE candidates that are of Kwara state  origin in 2021.

Since 2019, at the inception of the incompetent Kwara state APC party regime, it has budgeted and spent Billion upon Billion, of tax payers money on phantom school renovations and the purchase of very low quality instructional materials for schools in Kwara state.

The same regime that saw it fit to sack much- needed teachers vindictively because they were hired by the last administration. We are all aware that we don’t have nearly enough teachers for our schools in Kwara state, yet close to three thousand teachers were sacked arbitrarily on a whim, by the governor of Kwara state, Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

The so- called renovations of various schools have been trailed by allegations of outright fraud and the use of very low quality materials. One of such schools was Government High School , Adeta, where over 300 million Naira was spent on phantom renovations. We at the PDP wonder how much it would cost to build a new school from the scratch.

In addition to the above, the opposition has consistently asked the incompetent and mediocre APC party regime to provide a list that would contain  locations, Bill of Quantities (BOQ’s) of over 600 schools they claimed to have renovated with the Fourteen Billion Naira (N14 Billion) Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) funds. Till date, no list has been provided by the Kwara state APC regime’s agents.

In the past 16 years of the Administrations before this unfortunate APC regime, Kwara state was always high up on the rolls of WAEC Ordinary level, secondary school results performance. For example, in 2014, during the Administration of Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, Kwara state ranked 16th and 18th in 2018, out of 36 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

During past Administrations, we saw great innovative ideas which stimulated growth and performance in the Kwara state education sector. For starters, it was during the Administration of Dr. ‘Bukola Saraki (CON)  that  the government  declared an emergency in the education sector and held the first -ever Education summit in Nigeria. Mal. Bolaji Abdullahi ,the  Kwara Central PDP  Senate Candidate  for the 2023 general election, was the Honorable Commissioner for Education then. Training and retraining of teachers was the norm with the past administrations before this current unfortunate regime. We also saw the establishment of the Quality Assurance Bureau at the Kwara state Ministry of Education. We don’t see much of that now, except sacking of teachers.

During the preceding 16 years before the advent of this current unfortunate regime, Kwara state teachers had access to various loans; car loans, home improvement loans and other loans which were guaranteed by the state government, thus, the teachers were able to enjoy very low interest rates on their loans. Programmmes like the above have disappeared with today’s mediocre Kwara APC party regime.

We, the PDP members, put it to the incompetent, Kwara state APC party regime led by Mal Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, that they have nothing to showcase for three and a half years, except failure in all sectors including education.

There are only negative results for the phantom billions of Naira they claimed to have spent on education in the state and other critical sectors. This current unfortunate APC regime has consistently resorted to vile lies and repugnant Propagandist tactics, to try and hoodwink Kwarans into believing that they have succeeded, where other preceding administrations had failed’ the party submitted-  Team@orientactualmags.com
