Kwara PDP Demands ‘Further Explanation’ On N17b Allegedly Kept In The Bank

 The issue of the N17 billion which Kwara state PDP  claimed was the remaining money from the N35 billion loan that the current administration in the state obtained which has been allegedly kept in the bank resurfaced on Monday.

This was brought to the fore through the statement issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the state PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara on Monday.

.Recall that the party had in a statement issued by Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara early this month urged the state House of Assembly to raise an issue and ensure that the executive arm of government headed by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq provides answers to its questions with regard to the said money while the state PDP Chairman, Hon Babatunde Mohammed had also while talking to journalists including  Team@orientactualmags.com  after presiding over the swearing –in ceremony held for five new members of the State Working Committee at the state secretariat, Ilorin a few days ago , touched on the issue.

The party submitted on Monday that what the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu  Ajakaiye  said in respect of the issue while appearing as a guest on a radio programme in Ilorin, last week ‘is vague, ambitious and inconsistent with reality’.

The state PDP also added that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq owes the people of Kwara an explanation.

‘The people of Kwara state are tired of ambiguous grammars and misleading narratives from agents of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, particularly the CPS, who appears to be narrating a story he seems to have limited knowledge about . Neither the CPS nor any APC agents were with the governor when he was fixing the N17 billion, so they should spare us those misleading narratives being targeted at saving the face of government from explaining the whereabouts of this huge fund. It insulted people’s sensibilities when Ajakaiye claimed that the N17 billion was spent on Osi-Obo Road project, we ask, where was the $60m RAAMP fund given to Kwara state to construct rural access roads ?

The governor himself told Kwarans that he kept N17 billion in a bank which he didn’t disclose, he said this on camera and his statement was circulated on some social media platforms by media agents recruited by the government . Those who were not there when the governor was fixing the money in question should not present themselves as middlemen between kwarans and the governor, the people entrusted their mandate to the governor and not any of his aides.

As a party, we believe that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will not face kwarans and tell them the N17 billion has been spent on the projects listed by Ajakaiye when he already told us he had committed N10 billion to the same projects . After all, the petty projects on ground cannot even level up to N10 billion if they are properly evaluated .

Will the governor be telling us that he used the whole N10 billion to buy tailoring machines and added such to the already existing garment structure. Enough of trying to use grammar to twist narratives , Kwarans are interested in the whereabouts of this N17 billion and only the man who said he fixed it in an unknown bank can provide clear explanations with regard to the money in question’ the statement submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com
