Kwara PDP Reasks Questions About N17b Allegedly Kept In The Bank… Threatens Drastic Action

Kwara PDP Reasks Questions About N17b Allegedly Kept In The Bank… Threatens Drastic Action

Kwara state PDP on Tuesday reasked questions about the N17 billion which it claimed was the remaining money from the N35 billion loan the current administration in the state obtained which has been allegedly kept in the bank.

Recall that the party had in a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara urged the state House of Assembly to raise an issue and ensure that the executive arm of government headed by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq provides answers to its questions with regard to the said money.

While noting that the AbdulRazaq administration has failed to provide necessary information in respect of the money in question , the party has threatened to take a drastic action if the governor fails to do the needful ,saying ‘our party demands immediate explanations as to the whereabouts of this money from the government. Failure to do this may further necessitate a drastic action to force the government out of its shell’.

Chairman of the state PDP, Hon Babatunde Mohammed said while talking to journalists including  Team@orientactualmags.com  after presiding over the swearing –in ceremony held for five new members of the State Working Committee at the state secretariat, Ilorin on Tuesday.

The  new SWC members are Alhaji Idris. K Mudashiru,  State Deputy Chairman; Mr. Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode , State Secretary; Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments) , State Publicity Secretary, Princess Ramat Segilola AbdulKadir , State Woman Leader and Mallam Mohammed Abdulmumini  Acting State Youth Leader.

The party has also lamented security fears in the state citing cases of kidnapping that have continued to get recorded in the State of Harmony.

Princess Ramat Segilola AbdulKadir

‘Our darling state, Kwara, which is known for her tranquility and pristine ambiance enjoyed by all and sundry which every indigene and resident used to boast of in the past as one of the greatest favours that the previous administrations  had put in place for them is suddenly turning into a state under the siege of bandits and cult gangsterism.

We all are awakened by numerous heart-striking reports from different parts of the state, and today, the state capital has also joined the league and  cult-related violent incidents, gangsterism, kidnappings, and cases of theft are now our daily stories in the state capital’ the party said.

The party  has also alleged absence of infrastructure projects that are commensurate with the funds made available to the current administration in the state through federal allocations, aids and internally Generated Revenue.

‘It has become a cause for concern that despite the huge cash inflow to the state, Kwarans could not see anything on the ground across the state that commensurate with the income and the huge debt imposed on the state since 2019. For example, this is the only government that has broken a negative record that in almost five years, the governor has not inaugurated a single infrastructural project that is fully funded by the state from start to completion. This is the first time Kwarans will be witnessing such a calamity since 1999.

Indeed, this is a trying time for Kwarans, and the meager resources that were well managed for the optimum services of the people by our government are now being pitilessly squandered from all fronts by political merchants that have taken over management of the state since 2019.

We have it on record that all through the first 4 years of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, he was able to construct less than 5 kilometers of road in the whole of Irepodun LG while Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in his first term  constructed over 10km Road from Arandun linking Ipetu Rore to Oke ero LG. There’s also a construction of close to 5km from Oro township to Ijomu-Oro ,yet , the Abdulrahman-led government has made more noise on road construction in Irepodun than all governments since 1999’ Mohammed added.

The state PDP also  accused the state government of showing indifference to the  recent report  made available by  the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)  listing Kwara as one of the drug-ravaging states in Nigeria with a 14% rate of abuse which the agency had according to the party described as a worrisome and disturbing development.

Hon Babatunde Mohammed also asserted  that Kwara state PDP is intact and remains one family.

He added that there is no intraparty conflict in the state PDP while explaining that vacancies had existed sequel to the decision by former members of the State Working Committee to voluntarily resign from their positions.

Their replacements were according to him produced by the party stakeholders.

He also noted that following misconduct on the part of the former Youth Leader, Prince Haliru Dansoho Mahmoud , he was suspended from his position indefinitely  hence the decision to name Mallam Mohammed Abdulmumini as acting Youth Leader.

While asserting that this was done in line with the constitution of the party, he also added that  the new Youth Leader will help to coordinate the Youth Leaders at the Local Government and Ward levels.

Party bigwigs at the event include Hon Isa Bawa, Hon Sikirat Anaco, Hon Nimata Ibrahim and Hon Yinka Aje-Team@orientactualmags.com
