Kwara PDP Suspends Haliru Mahmoud As Youth Leader … Youth Advisory Council Affirms Loyalty To SWC
The State Working Committee of the Kwara state PDP has approved the indefinite suspension of Prince Haliru Dansoho Mahmoud from his position as state Youth Leader.
Kwara PDP state Publicity Secretary, Prince Tunji Morounfoye in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that this decision was taken during the meeting held by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party to look into the report submitted by the disciplinary committee set up to inquire into what the state PDP referred to as ‘matter of the ungentlemanly outbursts by the State Youth leader, Prince Haliru Dansoho Mahmoud against the party’.
The statement noted that the meeting was held on Tuesday , August 22, 2023.
‘The report received from the disciplinary committee showed clearly that the state Youth Leader was guilty of all the charges brought against him by party members who petitioned the state party echelon. After considering and looking into the disciplinary committee’s report, the SWC of the party has decided to suspend the state Youth Leader indefinitely’ the statement added.
In the meanwhile, members of the Youth Advisory Council of the state PDP, have affirmed loyalty to the State Working Committee headed by Alhaji Tunde Mohammed while expressing support for the decision taken in respect of the State Youth leader, Prince Haliru Dantosho. They referred to what he had done as ‘gross misconduct and willful violation of the guidelines and constitution of the party’, despite his status as a key member of the state executive council’.
The YAC in a joint statement by Otukoko Olayinka Ibrahim , State Chairman ,Dr. Abdulateef Ojomu, Kwara South Chairman ,Comrade Nura Mohammed, Kwara North Chairman, Olaitan Obalowu, Kwara Central Chairman and Barr. Mosurat O. Peace, State Woman Leader, expressed satisfaction with the membership of the Disciplinary Committee constituted by the SWC which had according to them handled their assignment diligently and made appropriate recommendations .

The Constitution of the party is clear and unambiguous with regard to the matter at hand. Article 9 of the Constitution of the People’s Democratic Party contains the ‘Code of Conduct’ and its Section 9.1 Sub Section (n) states clearly that:
‘No member of the party shall bring to the public attention disagreement and conflicts within the party unless expressly authorized to do so’. Article 21 of the same Constitution also provides for ‘Offences and Punishment’ and Section 21.1 Subsection (i) provides that:
‘Any member who engages in unauthorized publicity to cause disputes within the party or create a parallel party organ at any level’ has committed punishable offence and ‘indefinite suspension’ as applied in this case is one of the recommended punishments for the offence in the party’s constitution’ the group added-Team@orientactualmags.comDo you have any information you wish to share with us?
