Kwara Prominent Politician, Mohammed Salihu, Dies In Ilorin..He’s Speaker Yakubu Danladi’s Elder Brother

Kwara state APC members especially those in the Baruten/Kaiama federal constituency, co-residents of Adewole estate, family members and friends, spoke in sepulchral tones and had mournful facial expressions as news of the death of Alhaji Salihu Mohammed spreads on Thursday night.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Hon Salihu Mohammed breathed his last at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin.
Hon Mohammed Salihu served as Chairman of Baruten local government during the Bukola Saraki administration and he was also the Baruten/Kaiama ACPN House of Representatives candidate in the 2011 general election.
The deceased politician, who had blue blood , was until his death on a Thursday night, the Ciroma of Gwanara emirate.
Ahead of the 2019 general election, he was though a member of the PDP but however left the party for APC ‘technically’ shortly before the elections apparently because his younger brother, Hon Salihu Dandali Yakubu had then gotten nominated as House of Assembly candidate.
Hon Salihu Dandali Yakubu eventually earned victory in the House of Assembly election, and he had later won a second term and has served as Speaker of the state House of Assembly since 2019.
Speaker Salihu Yakubu Danladi in a statement issued by his media office on Thursday mourned his elder brother’s death while praying for the repose of his soul.
‘Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return’.
It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the death of our brother, Hon. Mohammed Salihu, a former Executive Chairman of Baruten Local Government Council.
Hon. Salihu died this evening after a brief illness.
The deceased politician, who was until his death, the Ciroma of Gwanara Emirate, is survived by siblings, wives, children, and grandchildren among them is the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly; Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, Clerk of the House; Hajia Halima Jummai Kperogi and others.
