Kwara South Senate Seat: Nurudeen Adeyemi’s Good Qualities, Value Proposition Highlighted During Meeting With Irepodun LG APC Elders In Omu-Aran
Ahead of the 2027 General Election, a Kwara South APC senate aspirant, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun on Sunday met with party elders in Irepodun local government.
The meeting held at Irepodun local government secretariat, Omu-Aran produced positive outcomes as Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi was not only welcomed with open arms but also had speakers taking turns to say positive things about him while highlighting his good qualities, positive personality traits and ‘value proposition’.
Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, who is the principal of ENACT, is an indigene of Esie, Irepodun local government .
The meeting that was jointly presided over by APC Chairman, Irepodun local government, Mrs. Rasheedat Kazeem and the local government chairman, Alhaji Abdulazeez Tinuola Yakubu was attended by APC elders including Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Ilorin, Princess Adebukola Babalola, Hon Shola Odetundun, who represents Irepodun State constituency in the state House of Assembly, a former state lawmaker, Hon Felix Awodiji, Hon Tolagbe Ayansola, Professor Bashir Olaitan, Hon Jolayemi Adedoyin, Baba Olokooba and the Speaker of Irepodun local government, Hon Omogoye Muritala.

Addressing the party elders, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun thanked them for their support while also praising their leadership role.
Noting that this is not the first time he will be entering the Kwara South senate race, Engineer Adeyemi cited President Bola Tinubu’s famous ‘emi lo kan’ quote to urge support for his candidacy while submitting that having sought for party nomination in 2019 and 2023 , this time around ,the spirit of Emi lokan (it’s my turn) should be allowed to prevail.
He also disclosed that in furtherance of his senate bid, he has taken a decision to embark on political consultation visit and therefore felt it important to begin from ‘home’.
The Ekiti bloc, he noted, had occupied the parliament seat for 12 years while the Ibolo bloc that took over in 2015, would be completing its 12 years in 2027, it was therefore in recognition of this fact that the Igbomina people launched the ‘Igbomina lokan’ campaign to promote fairness and equity.
Engineer Adeyemi added that in Igbomina land that has three local governments; Ifelodun has had a ‘taste’ of the parliament seat through Chief Sulaiman Ajadi ditto Isin through late Chief C. O Adebayo.
The Irepodun LG APC elders, he noted, know their sons and daughters and will therefore send a representative who will do them proud.
At intervals, the TETFUND Board member, who was in high spirits, danced to the political songs sang by members of the ENACT team.
Asserting that his past deeds and actions served as a basis for considering himself as the best man for the job, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, who currently represents North Central on the Board of TETFUND, said he has used his good offices to improve tertiary education in Kwara South and Kwara State as a whole.


Kwara State College of Education, Oro, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, KWASU, Malete, and the University of Ilorin have according to him just gotten N2 billion, N1.5 billion, N750 million, N1billion and N7 billion projects respectively on his watch.
He also said he has helped to facilitate employment for Kwara South indigenes at polytechnics and universities without knowing the parents of the beneficiaries.
Engineer Adeyemi added that if elected senator in 2027, he will not only ensure quality representation but will also exceed people’s expectations.
Leader of Kwara South Unity Group (KSUG), Hon Adebayo Jimoh Alao, a former Commissioner for Sports, and a one-time chairman of Oyun local government, said the group has championed the agitation for an Igbomina indigene to occupy Kwara South parliament seat in 2027, and also took the message to traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the senatorial district while also submitting that it is important to note that KSUG is not only agitating for an Igbomina son but also a qualified candidate.






He therefore urged support for Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi’s candidacy.
A former state lawmaker, Hon Abdulrahman Akanni, who is also a member of KSUG, urged support for Engineer Adeyemi’s candidacy while also emphasizing the need for party members to participate in APC membership revalidation exercise.

A member of Irepodun local government APC Elders Forum, Hon Jolayemi Adedoyin described Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi as an illustrious son of Esie while noting that although, he had previously sought for party nomination and did not get it on two occasions he has however not only remained a member of the party but also worked for the success of candidates nominated by the party.

He also recalled how he surprisingly gave money to all the delegates at the venue of the primary election in 2023 after the process had ended.
Also speaking, Hon Tolagbe Ayansola emphasized the need for unity among aspirants from the local government in order to ensure that Irepodun local government presents a common front.
Hon Felix Awodiji, who commended the Ibolo bloc and Ekiti bloc for supporting the ‘Igbomina lokan’ campaign, noted that it is important that Irepodun local government presents a good candidate.
Princess Adebukola Babalola held the audience spellbound while talking about Engineer Adeyemi’s defining traits and good qualities.
She also gave reasons for submitting that he is the best man for the job.
Princess Babalola urged support for Engineer Adeyemi’s candidacy while promising that if elected as senator, the people of the senatorial district will not regret doing this because he is compassionate and he will ensure quality representation.
