Kwara Water Ministry Staff, 7 Others Arrested For Stealing Water Treatment Chemicals In Ilorin

Yusuf Abdulwasiu, a security guard, and a plumber, who is a staff of  the Kwara state Ministry of Water Resources , Mr  Aro, have been arrested  and taken into custody by the police in Ilorin ,Kwara state.

46-year-old Yusuf, and Aro were arrested alongside six others and they have been accused of stealing water treatment chemicals.

Among the six other suspects is 34-year-old AbdulKadri Issa Olayiwola, who was alleged to have taken possession of the stolen water treatment chemicals.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that they were arrested near the gate of the Ministry of Water Resources  at about 11:30 pm on June 4, 2024, during a routine patrol.

 The cops had noticed a suspicious activity  involving a commercial shuttle bus with registration number ABA804YG, and they  intercepted the bus  that was about to transport the  water treatment chemicals  to the usual place while the  driver attempted to escape.

Aro was alleged to have duplicated the key to the ministry’s store to facilitate the theft.

The suspects had allegedly taken away 50 bags of chemicals successfully before recording bad luck during  the third trip.

Spokesperson for  the Kwara  state police command, Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, a Deputy Superintendent of Police , has also confirmed the development.

‘Some suspects are being held in connection with the stolen water treatment chemicals. And 25 bags of water treatment chemicals were recovered from the suspects by the police when they were arrested  but investigation is still ongoing’ she said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
