Kwara: Woman Says She’s Walking Away From Marriage Coz Husband Has Been A Burden On Her
An Ilorin-based housewife, Rofiat Ibrahim, has said she is walking away from her marriage because her husband has become a burden on her. She has cited a prolonged illness.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Rofiat Ibrahim told an Area Court in Ilorin on Tuesday that her husband, Solihu, had come down with an illness more than ten years ago, and his family had refused to support her in taking care of him and the children.
‘I am the only one fending for my sick husband. My husband’s family left me alone to bear the financial burden.
I left my sick husband in 2019 and took away our four children when the burden became too much for me to bear.
My in-laws took my sick husband to a welfare home for treatment when I left him, but he ran away from the place and nothing has been heard about him since then’ she said.
Rofiat urged the court to grant her request to end the marriage.
The presiding Judge, Malam Aminullahi Abdul Lateef, ordered that Solihu should be properly served in order that he could react to his wife’s application while adjourning the matter until August 9 –Team@orientactualmags.com
