KWASU: Kwara PDP Taunts Gov Abdulrazaq After Inaugurating Osi Campus Project

Following the inauguration of the Osi campus of the Kwara State University on Wednesday, Kwara State PDP has taunted Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq by congratulating him and claiming that it was ‘the first-ever project that will be taken to completion by his administration anywhere in the state after 68 months’.
‘The party notes that this achievement is coming as a pointer to the positive impact of its constructive criticisms on governance and development in the state’ Kwara State PDP submitted in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon Olusegun Olusola Adewara.

PDP noted that had the governor heeded its advice early in the life of his administration, he could have completed more tangible projects that would have brought former President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the state for inauguration ceremonies which would be to the benefit of the people during his first term that ended on May 29, 2023.
The PDP also submitted that with the completion of the structures at the Osi campus of KWASU, ‘the Kwara State governor and his handlers are for once shifting focus from the usual road patching, classroom painting, and shoddy renovation of existing roads , which have characterized the profile of the current administration in the state’.
‘Our party is delighted that the Osi Campus of KWASU, an initiative birthed under the PDP government, has become the first site where Governor Abdulrazaq is cutting the tape to innaugurate a project after about six years in office.
While celebrating this step, we urge Governor AbdulRazaq to prioritize completion of several other projects inherited from the past administrations that have been neglected since his administration took over, despite their huge benefits to the people.
Such projects which the Abdulrazaq administration has neglected despite their potential for making life better for the people include Harmony Advance Diagnostic Centre, Shonga Farms, IVTEC, Ajase-Ipo, and other iconic initiatives handed over by past PDP administrations’ the statement said.
The party noted that the projects that the present government has neglected have the potential to bolster economic growth, improve healthcare services, and enhance the state’s standing as a leader in infrastructure development.
While welcoming the innauguration of the Osi campus of KWASU, the PDP assures Governor Abdulrahman of continued constructive criticisms, stating that the party will always prioritize accountability, the interest of the people, and the progress of Kwara State over ‘destructive propaganda and cheap politics, which the ‘Otoge’ campaign thrived on while in opposition’.
Findings however revealed that it was not the first time Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq would be presiding over ribbon-cutting ceremonies in the state as he inaugurated the 4.779KM Yebumot-Adeta Roundabout and Adeta- Oloje road projects on May 29, 2023. He also presided over ribbon-cutting ceremony and inaugurated the 1st phase of Gbugbu International Market on February15, 2023, and inaugurated projects at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, on December 13, 2023.
However, when this was brought to the attention of the State Publicity Secretary, Hon Olusegun Olusola Adewara, he had this to say;
‘Those are not state government projects; how can a governor go to tertiary institutions to inaugurate projects? Were the projects at the Kwara State Polytechnic funded by the state government?
They were funded by the institution that only honoured the governor by inviting him to inaugurate the projects in question. We are talking about projects initiated and executed by the state government. This is the first time Governor Abdulrazaq would be inaugurating a serious state government-funded project, it has never happened.
Don’t forget that we also started it, we had taken the projects to the lintel level before we left, he may have presided over ribbon-cutting ceremonies in the past which were simply done to honour him, but this is the first time that he can say this is a state government-funded project’-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
