Ladi Hassan Visits Abubakar Zubair At His Ilorin Residence, Condemns Eruku Church Attack
Former Chief of Staff, Government House, Ilorin, who is also a Kwara State PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Alhaji Ladi Hassan on Wednesday visited Alhaji ( Dr )Abubakar Zubair at his Ilorin residence.Â
Dr Zubair, a former Kwara State PDP Chairman, is a political follower of late Dr Olusola Saraki and Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
A statement issued by his media office and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Alhaji Ladi Hassan visited Alhaji Abubakar Zubair to check on his health, wellbeing and also receive prayers and blessings.
‘Alhaji ( Dr )Abubakar Zubair, who is experiencing an old age-related illness, was elected as Kwara State PDP chairman in 2002, and it was during his tenure that the slogan, P D and P, Oloooyee was introduced. He was highly delighted to receive Ladi Hassan and his team as he recalled with nostalgia the old good days and times when PDP was very tick in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole and wished and prayed for a return to the good times. He prayed for the success of Ladi Hassan and his team in the upcoming guber primary and said only those who have experience, character and good institutional memory like him can really do the job so that no one would be left uncared for.
He asked that his good wishes be conveyed to the leader of the party in Kwara State, His Excellency, Dr Bukola Saraki CON for keeping the flag of party flying while noting that he always recalls with happiness the day Dr Saraki took him to the Presidential Villa to meet the then President Olusegun Obasanjo’ the statement said.
The statement added that Alhaji Hassan was accompanied by his Director General, Hon Razaq Ibrahim, Director of Women, Hajia Afusat Alaro Imam, Director of Youth, AbduGaniyu Dikko, Coordinator, Edu local government, Saffi Mohammed, MM Salati and Dele Bosewa.
In separate statement, Alhaji Ladi Hassan has also condemned the attack on the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun , Eruku, Kwara State by bandits on Tuesday while urging authorities to take necessary steps to rescue the abductees.
Alhaji Ladi Hassan, who emphasized that the protection of lives and property must be treated as a top priority, described the incident as barbaric and unacceptable while adding that attacking people at a religious place is a senseless and deeply saddening act of violence.
He prayed that God will repose the souls of the deceased victims and comfort their families and other residents of Eruku while emphasizing the need for the security agencies and government at all levels to take urgent and proactive measures to address the growing insecurity in the state.
‘The tragic attack on the people of Eruku is one attack too many, and a painful reminder of how deeply insecurity has eaten into our communities. Innocent worshipers were killed, families shattered, and citizens abducted all under circumstances that could have been prevented with a proactive leadership.
Our hearts go out to every grieving family. We stand with Eruku in this dark hour and pray for the safe return of those who are still held captive.
However, beyond sympathy, we must confront the truth: Kwara State is becoming increasingly unsafe, and the government’s slow, reactive approach is failing our people.
The community members had reportedly raised the alarm about suspicious movements long before the incident. Yet no concrete action was taken.
Insecurity cannot be solved with late night appearances or political praise statements. What Kwara needs is urgent, coordinated, and transparent action not silence, excuses, or attempts to suppress information.
We commend the courage of the local vigilantes who risked their lives to defend the community.
We call on the Federal Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to intervene immediately. The rescue of the abducted victims must be treated as a top priority.
Kwara cannot continue like this. Our people deserve safety, empathy, and responsible leadership. It is time for a decisive action before another community is forced to mourn again’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
