Lagos Rep-elect, Ex-Naval Chief Among Dignitaries As Abdulazeez Afolayan Becomes 1st Asiwaju Of Oro
Rep-elect, Apapa federal constituency, Lagos state, Hon Adedayo Samuel Olumuyiwa, former Chief of Naval Staff, retired Vice Admiral Samuel Olajide Afolayan, Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir, the Grand Khadi of Kwara state, Sheikh Abdulateef Kamaldeen and the Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom, Chief Raheem Adedoyin were among dignitaries that attended the installation ceremony of retired Rear Admiral Abdulazeez Bayo Afolayan as first Asiwaju of Oro kingdom in Oro on Saturday.
Oro, Irepodun local government, Kwara state comprises 11 communities and its sons and daughters attended the event held at the palace of Oloro of Oro Kingdom ,Oba Rafiu Ajiboye in Okerimi Oro, in large numbers.
The installation ceremony, followed the approval of the appointment of the first-ever Asiwaju of Oro by the Oro Council of Chiefs and the Oloro of Oro Kingdom, HRM, Oba Abdulrafiu Ajiboye Oyeoaran1, after the completion of the selection process by the committee.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the colorful event that featured rich cultural display had in attendance top political, traditional and religious leaders including the Deputy Governor of Kwara state, Mr Kayode Alabi , who was represented by Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, the Muwagun of Oro Kingdom.
Dignitaries at the event also include Iya Ewe of Oro Kingdom, Chief (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Opawoye, the Oluomo of Oro Kingdom, Chief Ben Duntoye, the Proprietor of the popular ESGEE Hotel , Oro, Mr. Debo Adeleke, former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Prince Sulaimon Fagbemi and former Chairman of Kaiama Local Government, Kwara state, Hon. Hassan Bagudu.
The Elesie of Esie, Oba Yakubu Babalola, the Alaran of Arandun, Oba Ibikunle Ayinla Adekanye, the Oloko of Oko Irese, Oba Victor Olawuyi and the traditional heads ( Baale) of Ijomu Oro, Iludun Oro, Okeola Oro, Afin Oro, Iddo Oro, Agbeola Oro, Irebode Oro, Sie Oro and Olorunsogo Oro were among traditional rulers that attended the installation ceremony-Team@orientactualmags.com
