The University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara state, has begun the combination of face-to-face and online teaching.
The University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday noted that this was done in fulfillment of the promise made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN recently.
‘The University of Ilorin has assigned 500 user accounts of 300-capacity zoom licences to Faculties and Departments at the institution for the immediate commencement of virtual classes’ the statement said.

He further noted that ‘about 500 user accounts of 300 -capacity zoom licences have been assigned to Faculties and Departments for effective virtual delivery of lectures’ .
‘We have also developed virtual class schedule for courses with class sizes of about 1,000, 3,000, and 5,000 students using the large capacity zoom licences.
Physical delivery of lectures/practical sessions in classrooms/laboratories is very important and should be consciously sustained’ the statement added.
It would be recalled that in the wake of the transportation challenges the staff and students at the University had faced, the management had come up with several measures to mitigate the effect of the unfortunate situation on the people especially the students.
The university had issued a directive to the Timetable and Room Usages Committee to adjust lecture timetable in order to make it more flexible while also renewing the University’s zoom licences to activate the virtual lecture option- Team@orientactualmags.com
