LG Elections: Gov Abdulrazaq Has Committed Grave Political Suicide…Attacks On Saraki No Longer Getting Traction- Kwara PDP

Kwara State PDP on Friday expressed deep concern over what it described as the audacity of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration to have APC candidates declared victorious by the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWAISEC) in what was ‘clearly the most flawed and fraudulent local government elections of the decade’.
The party in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its state Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusegun Olusola Adewara noted that ‘the concocted results, shamefully written and announced from the confines of Government House, contradicted the actual vote cast at the polls and represented a usurpation of the democratic will of Kwarans’.
“By daring to impose these fraudulent election results on the people, Governor AbdulRahman and his minions have effectively committed political suicide’ the party added while condemning what it called ‘the Kwara State Government’s feeble attempt to attack the personality of former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON), the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin’, ‘who out of his love for the state and commitment to its progress, praised the people of Kwara for their courage and determination to exercise their franchise’.
PDP also alleged that the people of the state were disappointed by the crude manner the governor subverted their will by allegedly imposing his handpicked surrogates as council chairmen and councilors.
The party asserted that Dr. Bukola Saraki’s reputation and political stature are globally recognized and do not need the validation of ‘a government struggling with its own legitimacy’.
‘Saraki’s multi-sectoral reforms and strategic contribution to the development of Kwara State are legacies that cannot be diminished by the propaganda of a visionless administration.
Blaming the PDP for the conduct of an election that failed every test of morality and legality was not only laughable but also a clear sign that the AbdulRazaq administration has completely lost its moral compass.
As a party , we have no apology for approaching the courts to safeguard the sanctity of the electoral process, which AbdulRahman sought to manipulate as a trap for Kwarans. The party’s judicial intervention successfully exposed the governor’s lawlessness and his anti-democratic agenda.
No amount of lies, propaganda, or tantrums directed at Dr. Saraki can erase the glaring failures of the AbdulRazaq administration’ the statement added.
The PDP also noted that it considered it as laughable that ‘the governor thinks attacking Saraki—a man revered as the architect of modern Kwara—will divert public attention from his gross mismanagement and failed leadership’ while alleging that Governor AbdulRahman’s propaganda machinery, including the Commissioner for Communications and other political appointees and surrogates, has been preoccupied with smearing the reputation of any credible voice that dares to challenge their incompetence.
‘The attacks on respected figures like Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, Alhaji Folaranmi Aro, and the apolitical Asiwaju of Offa, are just a few examples of how this government has recklessly vilified those who have spoken out about its failures. In the case of the Asiwaju of Offa, the unwarranted attack was met with public outrage, forcing the APC surrogates to issue an apology.
It is clear that this government’s penchant for attacking anyone who advises or questions it is akin to a hunter’s dog destined for destruction, refusing to heed its master’s whistle.
If Governor AbdulRazaq wishes to leave a legacy like that of Saraki, he will need more than fifty years of selfless, compassionate service to the people. No amount of childish propaganda can bring Saraki down to AbdulRahman’s level’ the party added- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
