LG Elections: Gov Idris, Bagudu, Malami, Other Kebbi APC Bigwigs Attend Campaign Kickoff In Koko

Ahead of the local government elections in Kebbi state, the state APC held its campaign kickoff in Koko, Koko Besse LGA on Saturday.
Governor Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu, also presented the party’s flags to the APC chairmanship candidates in the 21 Local Governments in the state during the event.
The governor said the historic event signified the readiness of the state government for the polls adding that it is crucial to the socioeconomic development of the state.
Dr. Idris recalled that various promises had been made to the people of the state ahead of the 2023 general election, which his administration is now fulfilling.
‘This happy trajectory of even infrastructural development being done by the APC-led administration in the state will be hugely sustained with APC LG Chairmen when they get to office.
APC is a popular party and it belongs to all the people of Kebbi state, all of us.
This has been testified by the former PDP faithful who have just came on board the APC train.
They are now part of the bigger, united APC family and we are all one now’ he said.

Dr. Idris urged them to be committed, patient and fair to the APC cause, to make Kebbi state become more stronger .

He also appealed to the people of the state to renew their confidence in APC and massively vote its candidates during the polls.
Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Barr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, commended members of the party from across the state for attending the event.
Malami said Dr. Idris has performed exceptionally well in the last one year.
He cited the execution of a myriad of developmental projects across the state, including the empowerment of the people and revamping of agriculture, among others.
He said, ‘The only thing to reciprocate the good gestures of the governor is by massively voting for APC candidates in the LG polls.
This is to consolidate on the gains so far recorded across the state including improving security’.
Also speaking, Dr. Nasir’s immediate predecessor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, who is currently the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, said they have no regret voting for the governor.
‘Same should be done to APC candidates in the forthcoming polls and the governor has indeed been providing credible leadership and good governance’ he said .
Also speaking, a former governor of the state, Alhaji Saidu Dakingari, submitted that the local governments are very critical to the development of the state and the country in general.
‘They are the foundations of any government. There will be no development without solid LGs’ he said.
Dakingari acknowledged Dr. Nasir’s unwavering commitment to ensuring even development of all sections of the state.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Speaker, Kebbi state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Usman Muhammad Ankwe, Zonal APC Vice Chairman, Kebbi Central, Alhaji Abubakar Bello Bunza, retired General Muhammadu Magoro in their separate speeches appreciated the massive crowd that attended the flag-off campaign ceremony in Koko Besse Local Government.
They urged the people to vote for the party’s candidates in view of the record of achievements of Governor Nasir Idris.
Earlier , the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru had announced that the party has received many decampees from PDP prominent among them are the 3 State House of Assembly members from Argungu, Hon. Umar NaAmore, Hon.Yusuf Tilli from Bunza and Hon.Hashimu Namaliyo from Yauri constituency.
Kana also presented PDP ward Chairmen and their Secretaries from Danko Wasagu, a prominent women leader, Hajiya Lami Dudu with her supporters from Yauri Local Government who have dumped PDP for the APC.
He assured them of equal treatment in the party.
