Makinde Becomes 2nd Governor To Win Re-election In Oyo

Like his immediate predecessor had done, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has also won re-election.
Late Abiola Ajimobi, who was the governor of Oyo state between 2011 and 2019, had a special achievement under his belt-the first governor to win re-election in Oyo state.
His predecesors including Cicero of Esa-Oke , late Chief Bola Ige and late Alao Akala had failed to get this achieved.
Makinde is a member of the PDP G-5 governors and because Governors Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Samuel Ortom (Benue) had lost senate elections in their respective states , all eyes were on the Oyo state governor.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the Returning Officer for the 2023 Oyo state gubernatorial election, Professor Adebayo Bamire, who is the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, declared Makinde as winner of the gubernatorial election in Ibadan on Sunday.
Makinde got 563,617 votes , Teslim Folarin of the APC had 251,230 votes while Adebayo Adelabu of the Accord Party got 38,757 votes- Team@orientactualmags.com
